わたし自身の恐れも　未来を予言する
広い世間の預言者の魂も
わたしの真実の恋の期間を左右することはできず
冷酷な運命によって没収されるということであろう、
滅びる月は欠けることに耐えてきたのだし
占星術師は哀れにも自らの予言を嘲る
不確かさも今や自らを確かなものとし
平和はオリーブの枝に永遠の命を宣言する、
今最もうららかな時のしたたりによって
わたしの恋人は若々しくなり、死はわたしに譲歩する
彼の存在にもかかわらずわたしはこの貧しい詩の中で生き続けるだろうから
そうして彼はと言えば魯鈍で言葉を持たない部族に勝ち誇る、
あなたはこの詩の中にあなたのモニュメントを見出すだろう
独裁者の栄光と真鍮の墓標が朽ち果てる時に。

Not mine own fears, nor the prophetic soul
Of the wide world dreaming on things to come,
Can yet the lease of my true love control,
Supposed as forfeit to a confined doom.
The mortal moon hath her eclipse endured,
And the sad augurs mock their own presage;
Incertainties now crown themselves assured,
And peace proclaims olives of endless age.
Now with the drops of this most balmy time,
My love looks fresh, and Death to me subscribes,
Since, spite of him, I'll live in this poor rhyme,
While he insults o'er dull and speechless tribes:
And thou in this shalt find thy monument,
When tyrants' crests and tombs of brass are spent.
